100th Battle against Alvilda Rose

By Siriusly Intrepid

Alvilda Rose is Intrepid’s favourite Boss in Battle Punks, as she was named after Intrepid’s driving force!

Alvilda came rolling into Battle Punks on the Pirate Ship on the 16th of July, 2010, and since that time, Intrepid has enjoyed fighting her many, many times.

Intrepid’s 100th battle came around with Ms Rose on the 8th of September, 2010. As this is a pretty special milestone, Intrepid wanted to share the footage of that special 100th battle. Enjoy! And see you in battle! <3

What are Battle Markers and how do I use them?

By Sirius (Intrepid)

This will be added to the FAQ post, but also posting as a new post!

~~~
Battle Markers are quest items that you collect to be able to participate in the Battle Club series of quests once at level 23 on the Pirate Ship. A certain number of Battle Markers is required for entry to each quest in the series. These are as follows:
Battle Club I – 1 Battle Marker
Battle Club II – 10 Battle Markers
Battle Club III – 25 Battle Markers
Battle Club IV – 50 Battle Markers
To see how many Battle Markers you currently have go to:
Shop -> Items -> Quest Items -> Mine and your Battle Markers should be shown in the second drop down list available in that section.
So start collecting them early to ensure that you have plenty available to participate in the Battle Club quests! (Please note that you also have to have completed the previous Battle Club quest in addition to having the appropriate number of Battle Markers available for entry to start the next Battle Club quest. Also, the Battle Markers required are removed from your inventory upon you accepting each Battle Club quest.)
What is armour?
By Sirius (Intrepid)
This will be added to the FAQ post, but also posting as a new post!
~~~

Armour is in-built protection which reduces the damage received from incoming hits. As you level up, your armour automatically increases, so a level 12 punk will have higher armour than a level 11 punk for example. Hence a level 12 punk would have an additional advantage when fighting a level 11 punk, with the level 12 being capable of doing more damage with the same build combination as the level 11, due to the armour difference.

Taking Pictures and Videos of your Punk!

By Sirius (Intrepid)

~~~~~
To get a picture of your Punk (in battle if you like):
You need to take a screenshot of your character, and save it to your computer, and the upload it to Facebook as you would any other picture.
To take a screenshot locate the Prt Sc (Print Scrn) button on your keyboard and press it. Then go to an image program such as Paint and go Edit – Paste. (If you don’t see your image try Fn+Prt Sc, Ctrl+Prt Sc, Alt+Prt Sc or another similar combination and try pasting into your image program again.)
In your image program crop as appropriate. In Paint and easy way to do this is to use the rectangle select tool to select the part of the image you wish to use, and then copy this (Ctrl+C) and make a new clear Paint screen and paste it (Ctrl+V).
Then just use File – Save to save your image (generally as a jpg or png file) and upload to Facebook!
~~~~~~

To video a fight:

For my videos I use a program called CamStudio to record the section of the screen the battle occurs in. It’s Freeware and safe!

You can download it from here: http://camstudio.org/

It will save the videos you take as .avi files, and you can upload the straight to Facebook, Youtube, etc from there!

See you in Battle!

Intrepid vs Alvilda Rose

By Sirius (Intrepid)

Intrepid was very excited for the latest Battle Punks update (16th of July, 2010), particularly as it included new levels (20-23), a new area (Pirate Ship) and new Bosses (Capt. William McKraken, FirstMate McEnery and Alvilda Rose), as well as heaps of new content (weapons, clothing, the lot)!

Now what she was most excited about though, was one of the new Bosses, specifically Alvilda Rose! Why? Well there’s been some whispers on the high seas that Alvilda Rose was named in honour of Intrepid’s driving force!

So to celebrate, here’s a video of the first Intrepid vs Alvilda Rose battle, and the first Intrepid win over Alvilda Rose. Both videos were taken on July 17th, 2010.

What are Quests and how do I do them?

By Sirius (Intrepid)

This will be added to the FAQ post, but also posting as a new post!

~~~
Quests are a series of specific tasks for you to complete which result in rewards (some even allow you to upgrade your items)! Each area has specific Quests, and some Quests are only unlocked when those before it are completed!
To view the Quests available to you currently, select the Quests tab from the main page. Quests will only be active once you accept them, so to start working on a particular Quest, click it, and a pop up will come up telling you the mission and rewards available, simply select “Okay” to make the Quest active.
Once a Quest is active, anything you do towards that quest while battling automatically counts, once you have completed the requirements, to receive your rewards you need to return to the Quest page and click the completed quest again to register completion! Most Quests that require specific Bosses to be beaten, or items to be found in battle, can only be completed in the area that they were accepted in.
Some Quests (such as weapon upgrade Quests) may involve items you purchase from the Shop as well as those found in Battle, to purchase such items go to the Shop and browse the Quest Items tab.
Some Quests also involve Cooking, to Cook, firstly hover your cursor over your current energy and then select Cook Food from the drop down list!
What are Flasks?
By Sirius (Intrepid)
This will be added to the FAQ post, but also posting as a new post!
~~~

Flasks are a way to give you more control over your battle. They offer different attributes, for example additional damage or health regeneration, and you can purchase them and add them to the Flasks circles above your main gear in the order to use during battle.

Flasks are permanent, so once you have purchased them they are yours to keep and equip how you like!

Some flasks last a single turn per battle, while some last three turns per battle. Their effects and how long they last are detailed in the store, and is repeated here. Please note that you unlock the ability to purchase and use more flasks as you increase in level. So if you are a lower level, not all of these options may be available.
